Tamarack Provides 1st Training Venue

While snow has been a hard-to-come-by commodity in the West, MWSC Alpine Team made the most of Tamarack this past weekend.  Saturday and Sunday provided a productive environment to refresh the basics of balance and stance.  U14 and U16 athletes engaged in Slalom stance and balance progression training. Although a limited venue,  MWSC athletes "set" a Discovery Lift record at 50-60 laps on the sole open run. When interviewed, MWSC coach, Jackie Martain described the day as, "I don't recall the laps after 20, it all just became a blurrrrrr." However mundane the venue, MWSC athletes conducted themselves with professionalism and optimism.  MWSC staff and athletes are excited for more snow in the forecast and the hopeful opportunity to ski the whole mountain this upcoming weekend!  Keep praying to Ullr for more snow and see you on the slopes.
